Yesterday (Friday) was my first trip to the Library; it was really awesome. Although I was limited on time, I'm glad I went and experienced the process of searching. I saw Dr. Klein from Del Mar there! He was in the Local History section, and was looking at an early 20's issue of the Caller Times. He's so great. I said hello and as he stood up, I saw him sporting his "Wesley Reed for U.S. Congress" Tee shirt and Wendy Davis button! I have never had him for a class, but I seem to run into him in the community so often.
Although I didn't get everything I was looking for, I did find one document worth photocopying. I rifled through only a small portion of the filing cabinet pictured. I only found the polls for one Governor's race, and that was Preston Smith's election around 1970. I'm not sure how I'm going to find so much data when finding just this was so hard. Mainly, I had to page past and read over Corpus re-distracting coverage in the CC Caller Times.
I am going back to the library today though, and I have much more time!
